Russia says it downed 11 Ukrainian drones over border regions

The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces intercepted 11 Ukrainian drones carrying out attacks on Russian territory on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The agency initially reported that four drones were shot down over the Belgorod region and one was shot down over the Kursk region overnight. It later added that at about 6:30 a.m. Moscow time, four more drones were downed over the Belgorod region and two were downed over the Voronezh region.

Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that the drones caused no injuries or infrastructure damage in the region. Authorities in the other regions where drones were reported have not commented on the incidents.

On Wednesday evening, Russian media reported that two drones were shot down in the Nizhny Novgorod region near an oil refinery and two petroleum plants. The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the report.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with four Shahed drones on Wednesday night. Two of them were shot down over the Kharkiv region, while one of them crashed into civilian infrastructure, Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported. He said that nobody was injured.
