Russian forces capture village of Krokhmalne in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region

Russian forces captured the village of Krokhmalne in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, reports Russia’s Defense Ministry.

Volodymyr Fityo, spokesperson for Ukrainian Ground Forces Command, confirmed that the village was captured. According to Fityo, Ukrainian soldiers withdrew “to better prepared reserve positions,” as the village is “insignificant.”

“Prior to the start of the full-scale invasion, 45 people lived in the village of Krohkmalne, so there were around five houses, and these houses were destroyed by the Russian army. That’s why these few hundred meters captured by Russia are insignificant. Our defenders withdrew to better prepared reserve positions, where their lives aren’t at risk,” the Telegram channel Strana cites Fityo as saying.

“I think that this is a temporary development. The front line shifts every day, we simply don’t announce capturing or repelling 100 meters, we don’t need to do that,” added Fityo.
