WSJ: Russia in talks with Iran to buy short-range ballistic missiles

Source: Meduza

Moscow plans to buy short-range ballistic missiles from Iran that would make it better able to inflict damage on Ukrainian infrastructure, The Wall Street journal reported on Thursday, citing U.S. officials.

According to newspaper’s sources, Moscow first set its sights on the weapons in mid-December 2023, when Russian delegates made a previously unreported visit to an Iranian Aerospace Force facility in Tehran.

One U.S. official told the WSJ that Washington is “concerned” that the negotiations for Russia to purchase the missiles are “actively advancing.” The sale could reportedly take place as soon as this spring, though U.S. officials don’t think the deal has been made yet.
