Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, said that Russian air defenses repelled 10 “aerial targets” in the area on Thursday. Two people were reported hospitalized with injuries from falling debris.

Explosions from the collisions shattered windows in multiple buildings and damaged more than 30 vehicles.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that air defenses shot down 10 Vilkha missiles over the Belgorod region at around 11:40 p.m.

Shortly before the attack, Gladkov warned residents that an air raid alert was in effect.
