Several missiles reportedly shot down over Russia’s Belgorod region
Early Wednesday, air defense systems shot down several aerial targets over Russia’s Belgorod region, says Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. The city of Belgorod was placed under air raid alert.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that six Tochka-U missiles and six Vilkha missiles were shot down.
“The situation in Belgorod continues to remain tense,” wrote Gladkov. He added that emergency workers would go from place to place checking for damage.
Gladkov reported that the village of Soloti in the region was hit, damaging two private homes and a power line.
The day before, Belgorod was subjected to four missile attacks, the last of which occurred around 10:30 p.m. local time. According to Gladkov, one person was killed and another 11 were injured in Tuesday’s attack.
