Source: Meduza

Finnish authorities have reopened two border crossings with Russia. According to Finnish news agency Yle, the checkpoints will operate for a month. However, Finnish authorities have warned they will close the border again if there is an influx of asylum seekers arriving from Russia.

Finland first started closing border crossings with Russia due to a wave of asylum seekers from countries in Africa and the Middle East. On November 30, it closed all crossings along the Finland-Russia border.
