Three boys and their families are at risk of being deported to Uzbekistan after the children (ages 10, 12, and 14) extinguished an eternal flame in St. Petersburg on Sunday evening by throwing snowballs at the memorial. Security camera footage captured the boys in the act. Local police say the children and their families are in Russia without having filed all the necessary paperwork. The authorities reportedly plan to ask a court to order their expulsion from the country.
