German web hosting provider cancels watchdog website Agentura.ru’s hosting contract, says journalist Andrei Soldatov

Update: The German hosting provider Hetzner will cancel contracts with all users from Russia. This will come into force on January 31, 2024.

The German web hosting provider Hetzner has cancelled Agentura.ru’s hosting contract, reports the website’s founder and journalist Andrei Soldatov.

According to Soldatov, the contract was cancelled “due to the tense geopolitical situation with Russia.”

“Agentura has been a watchdog of Russia’s intel services since 2000, and I wonder who this helps,” Soldatov wrote on social media.
