Russian authorities declare Russian America for Democracy in Russia ‘undesirable’ organization
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has declared the activities of the U.S. organization Russian America for Democracy in Russia “undesirable” on Russian territory, reported State Duma deputy Andrey Lugovoy.
The Russian America for Democracy in Russia website says that the organization brings together anti-war Russians in the U.S. who advocate for freedom and democracy in Russia. The organization also raises funds to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces and civilians in Ukraine, as well as runs the Anti-Propaganda project, which explains Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and its consequences for Russians.
Lugovoy called the organization a “clone of the extremist ACF [Anti-Corruption Foundation].” “The [organization’s] goal is to create a protest force in Russia for the dismemberment of the country, preparing a campaign to hand over power to foreign invaders. The U.S. State Department came up with the idea and finances the project, while the executors are fugitive traitors,” the deputy said.
