Part of Ukraine’s Russian-annexed Donetsk region has been left without power due to overnight strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reported Denis Pushilin, the Russian-appointed head of the annexed “Donetsk People's Republic” (“DNR”), on his Telegram channel.

According to Pushilin, the attack was targeted at the region’s power system. He said some districts and cities were left without electricity and operations at several boiler plants were suspended, adding that by morning, workers had managed to restore power in some areas.

The day before, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine with 75 Shahed drones, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force Command. Ukraine’s Air Force said 74 of the 75 drones were downed. Five people were injured as a result of the attack. The Ukrainian energy company DTEK said that Russia has resumed large attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. According to DTEK, 151 apartment buildings, 75 private houses, and 12 institutions in Kyiv were left without power, as well as 16,000 houses in the Kyiv region.
