Source: Meduza

Makhachkala airport, which was the site of an anti-Semitic riot, resumed operations at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time on October 30, reported the Federal Air Transport Agency. Azimuth and Red Wings flights from Tel Aviv to the cities of Mineralnye Vody and Makhachkala will be temporarily redirected to other Russian airports.

The airport had been closed since the evening of October 29, when hundreds of people broke into the airport searching for “refugees from Israel” after a flight from Tel Aviv landed.

The rioters occupied the runway, among other areas. All departures and arrivals were cancelled. Flights headed toward Makhachkala were redirected to other airports.

Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency previously reported that the airport would reopen on October 31, following a thorough security check.
