The Russian Ministry of Defense announced, late on October 12, that a “terrorist attack” with fixed-wing combat drones had been attempted by “the Kyiv regime” on the Russian territory. According to the agency, two UAVs had been downed by air defense systems in Bryansk and Belgorod regions.

This morning, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote that a fixed-wing UAV had been shot down in the region’s Grayvoron district, “without consequences on the ground.”

Similarly, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said that another UAV had been suppressed by electromagnetic systems on the outskirts of Bryansk, detonating during its fall. According to the official, the incident didn’t lead to casualties.

The Telegram news channel Baza writes that two drone attacks took place in Bryansk region on October 12. One of the UAVs crashed and exploded on the grounds of a hardware and construction store, causing a fire. Several hours later, another drone, reportedly suppressed by electromagnetic means, fell onto a chemical plant which had been its target. According to the outlet, no one was injured by the explosion.

Russia’s border zones are regularly coming under fire and drone attacks.
