Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kyrgyzstan for a state visit, according to the Kyrgyzstani government’s press service. The trip marks the first time Putin has left Russia (with the exception of Russian-occupied Ukraine) since the International Criminal Court issued an international arrest warrant against him in March on charges that he ordered the deportations of Ukrainian children.

During the visit, Putin is slated to hold talks with Kyrgyzstani President Sadyr Japarov and to attend a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Heads of State Council.

According to Russian state media, the Russian leader will also meet for talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Tajikistani President Emomali Rahmon.
