Ukrainian forensic experts have finished identifying the bodies of the people who died in Russia’s October 5 missile strike on a cafe in the village of Hroza, Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported on Thursday.

According to Klymenko, a total of 59 people were killed in the attack. DNA tests were needed to confirm 19 of the victims.

“All of the victims were local residents. Pensioners, medical workers, farmers, teachers, businesspeople. All of them were civilians. In some cases, multiple generations of whole families died,” the minister said.

He also said that experts identified 20 different body parts as belonging to the same man, while two of the victims had to be identified through belongings that were on their person because they had no direct relatives with whom to compare DNA.
