Russia trying to take Avdiivka, Ukraine says successfully fending off attacks

Russian forces are trying to move in on the city of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine, with attacks intensifying in the region over the past 24 hours, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in an October 11 statement. According to the statement, the Ukrainian military has successfully fought off the attacks and has not lost any positions.

Ukraine’s General Staff also reported a total of 108 firefights along the entire front line during the same 24 hours, which, as Ukrainska Pravda notes, is significantly higher than average.
