Russian-backed authorities in annexed Crimea to start fining business owners who refuse to shelter residents during air raid alerts
The occupation authorities in annexed Sevastopol will begin fining the owners of commercial buildings for refusing to let residents take shelter during air raid alerts, according to the city’s Russian-installed governor, Mikhail Razvozhayev.
“In the case that this isn’t being provided and we receive reports and complaints about it, we’ll be taking measures. The fines will be quite serious for those who decide that this is their private property and that they shouldn’t let people in,” Razvozhayev said.
During an air raid alert in Sevastopol on September 25, city residents were denied entry to the Fishermen’s House of Culture. Razvozhayev called the incident an instance of “incredible idiocy or deliberate sabotage” and vowed to deal with the issue “harshly.”
