Russian Justice Ministry adds Nobel Prize-winning journalist Dmitry Muratov to 'foreign agents' list
Russia’s Justice Ministry has added Novaya Gazeta editor-in-chief Dmitry Muratov, a winner of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, to its list of “foreign agents.”
According to the agency, Muratov "used foreign platforms to disseminate views intended to form negative attitudes towards Russia's foreign and domestic policies" and took part in the creation and distribution of content from other "foreign agents."
In addition, the ministry added comedian Ruslan Bely, economist Konstantin Sonin, journalist Denis Kataev, former St. Petersburg lawmaker Maksim Reznik, dissident and writer Oleg Radzinsky, Ekho Moskvy journalist Ksenia Larina, politician Mairbek Vachagaev, and former Navalny organization employee Yevgeny Karpov, and anti-war organization Novaya Tyva to the list.
