A St. Petersburg court has ordered the arrest of a foreign national, Davronbek Yuldoshev, in connection with attempting a terrorist attack, reports the court’s press service.

The prosecution says that on August 10, Yuldoshev and “unidentified individuals” decided to commit arson at a military enlistment office. To accomplish this, says the court, Yuldoshev acquired “a bottle with combustible contents and an object for producing an open flame.”

The suspect was detained near a St. Petersburg enlistment office the following day. He could not explain why he was at the enlistment office building with a bottle of gasoline in his backpack, writes Telegram channel Baza.

Local media outlets Fontanka and Mash na Moyke both reported that scammers convinced Yuldoshev to commit arson.
