Imprisoned opposition politician Alexey Navalny has been sent to an isolation cell for the 17th time, reports his lawyer Vadim Kobzev.

Kobzev says the reason Navalny was sent into isolation this time was that he “presented himself incorrectly.” Navalny will spend 13 days in solitary confinement, until August 4, when a hearing is scheduled and Navalny is expected to be sentenced in the new “extremism” case against him.

Alexey Navalny has been in prison since early 2021. For the past year, he has been sent to solitary confinement nearly continuously on various pretexts.
