Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian state-run news agency RIA Novosti that Russian attacks on Odesa’s port were “retaliatory strikes for the Crimean bridge.”

Earlier, Russia’s Defense Ministry also called the attack on Odesa a “retaliatory strike.” The ministry reported that Russian troops carried out the attack “on targets used to prepare terrorist acts against Russia using naval drones, and the location where the [naval drones] were manufactured, at a shipyard near the city of Odesa.”

The ministry also reported that the Russian army destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces fuel depot in the Odesa and Mykolaiv area, and that “all planned targets had been struck.”
