Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia “firmly denies” the allegations that it was responsible for the explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant on Tuesday morning.

According to Peskov, Moscow’s official position is that the facility’s destruction was the result of a “deliberate sabotage operation” by the “Kyiv regime.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that by destroying the dam at the Kakhovka plant, “the Russian terrorists are simply demonstrating to the entire world that they need to be expelled from every corner of Ukrainian land.”
