According to the Russian military, Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu ordered the supply of weapons for the “special military operation” to be kept “under special control.”

Shoigu gave this order while conducting an inspection in the Southern Military District. The ministry also released a video of Shoigu examining military equipment.

Earlier on May 5, Wagner Group head Evgeny Prigozhin directly addressed Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and the country’s most senior general, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, blaming them and Russia’s elites generally for setbacks in Bakhmut (where Wagner Group has been fighting at heavy costs for months).
