Drones reportedly attack oil refineries in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai and Rostov region

A drone fired on the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region on Wednesday night, causing a fire to break out, state media reported on Thursday.

According to RIA Novosti, four drones attacked the refinery, and all but one of them exploded. The Telegram channel Baza reported that the attack lasted for nearly an hour, while the channel Kub Mash posted a video that purportedly shows the attack itself.

Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that nobody is believed to have been injured in the attack. At about 5:00 a.m. local time, the governor said that the fire had been extinguished.

Also on Wednesday night, another drone attacked an oil refinery in Russia’s Rostov region, sparking a fire, which employees were able to extinguish, according to Governor Vasily Golubev. It’s unclear whether anybody was injured.

Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev reported that air defenses in the region shot down a drone on Thursday morning. He didn’t say what the drone was targeting, but reported that nobody was injured.

In addition, the Telegram channel Astra reported that at 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, a drone fell near a military unit in the city of Buturlinovka in the region and exploded.
