Russian troops carried out a missile attack on Ukraine on the night of April 30–May 1. According to Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Russia launched a total of 18 missiles, 15 of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
The missiles were fired from strategic aircraft located in Russia’s Murmansk region and in the Caspian Sea area, Zaluzhnyi wrote on Telegram.
According to preliminary data, 25 people were injured in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, including three children, Governor Serhiy Lysak reported.
In Pavlohrad, he said, the attack damaged an industrial facility, 19 apartment buildings, 25 private homes, six educational institutions, and five stores.
Russia also targeted Kyiv, though City Military Administration head Serhii Popko reported that all the missiles launched at the city were downed by Ukrainian air defenses, and that there were no injuries or infrastructure damage.
