Russian-appointed ‘mayor’ of Donetsk reports shelling attack killed 7, including child
The occupation authorities in the Russian-annexed Donetsk region of Ukraine allege that the Ukrainian military has shelled central Donetsk, where civilian casualties occurred this morning.
According to the Russian-appointed ‘mayor’ of Donetsk, Alexey Kulemzin, one of the projectiles struck a passenger van, killing seven passengers, including a child.
Ten other people have been hospitalized with injuries, says the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk “republic” Denis Pushilin.
The Ukrainian military did not comment on the incident. Some Ukrainian media have suggested that the Russian side had shelled Donetsk to cover up its missile strike on other Ukrainian cities the same morning. The latest civilian death toll in Uman alone, where a missile struck an apartment building, is 17 people. Two others were killed in Dnipro.
