Belgorod governor: shelling from ‘the Ukrainian side’ has killed 30 civilians since war began

Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, said that since February 24, 2022, shelling in the region has killed more than 30 civilians. He blamed Ukraine’s Armed Forces for the deaths.

“In all, since 2022, we’ve have 2,276 shellings from Ukraine on settlements in the Belgorod region. The enemy used drones 326 times, and we counted 15 instances of sabotage and mining,” said the governor.

Gladkov said that around 30 people have been killed, and another 123 injured, since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Houses, cars, and roads have also sustained damage, said the governor.

The Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, has been on the receiving end of shelling more often than other Russian regions, though the border regions of Kursk and Bryansk have also taken hits. The regional authorities have forcibly resettled 7,000 people.
