Social media users who follow accounts belonging to Daria Trepova, the 26-year-old suspected of killing pro-Kremlin war blogger Vladlen Tatarsky, are being targeted by online threats and harassment, the Telegram channel Rotonda reported on Wednesday, citing multiple St. Petersburg activists whose names were posted in groups dedicated to “investigating” Tatarsky’s murder.
Some users have reportedly received threats despite having no personal links to Trepova or her accounts. One woman named Yelena Kondrakhina told Rotonda she was attacked by bots after she posted a question about sending packages to Trepova in prison in an online chat. Kondrakhina said she doesn’t follow Trepova on social media and has never met her.
According to Rotonda, at least some of the harassment has come from Vladislav Pozdnyakov, the founder of the Russian far-right hate group Male State.
