Sberbank reports paying out record dividends in 2022

Sberbank’s supervisory board recommended that the bank pay a total of 565 billion rubles (7.3 billion USD), or 25 rubles (0.3 USD) per share, for 2022.

Common shares in Sberbank rose by 9 percent, to 191.2 rubles (2.49 USD), and preferred shares by 9.4 percent, to 190.3 (2.48 USD). At the current price, the dividend yield is over 13 percent, notes RBC.

German Gref, chairman of the bank’s board, said these were the highest payouts in the history of Sberbank. He thanked investors who “believed in the bank during a complex period.”

Sberbank ended 2022 with a net profit of 270.5 billion rubles (3.5 billion USD), according to the bank’s financial records.
