Vladivostok water main bursts, leaving 30,000 people without heat and flooding streets
About 30,000 Vladivostok residents lost heating and hot water Tuesday after a water main burst, according to the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor’s Office.
The local news outlet V1.ru reported that the city’s Lugovaya Square was flooded with boiling water, trapping people on a raised overpass and causing traffic to accumulate in the area, which is one of the city’s main transport hubs.
The Russian newspaper Kommersant noted that water mains bursts are a regular occurrence in Vladivostok.
