The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs puts former FSB border guard and alleged participant in attacks on the Bryansk region on wanted list
The Russian internal affairs ministry put Ilya Bogdanov, one of the alleged participants in recent attacks on two villages bordering Ukraine in Russia’s Bryansk region, on the wanted list.
State-owned newspaper Argumenty i Fakty first reported Bogdanov’s appearance on the wanted list on March 4. The specific crime he’s accused of is not known, nor is the specific date when he appeared on the list.
According to media reports, Ilya Bogdanov was identified in a video from the Bryansk region shot by members of the Russian Volunteer Corps, which claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Bogdanov was a senior lieutenant in the FSB’s border service. In 2014, he crossed into Ukraine illegally and began fighting for Ukraine in the conflict in the Donbas. He received Ukrainian citizenship in 2015, settling in Kyiv and working in the restaurant industry. After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he returned to the front to fight for Ukraine.
