Possible drone explosion southeast of Moscow, wreckage not yet found

Source: TASS

A drone may have exploded in Kolomna, a town approximately 70 miles southeast of Moscow. Law enforcement officials have told TASS that locals heard an explosion on the evening of March 2.

According to that source, the explosion “occurred in the air.” “It is very likely that it was a drone. But we can’t say for sure yet, since the wreckage can’t be found,” he added.

The Emergency Services Ministry for the region said that experts from the agency who surveyed the site of the alleged explosion had not found anything yet. Gas and electricity are operating normally in Kolomna, no violations have been reported at energy and gas infrastructure facilities, said the Ministry of Energy of the Moscow region.

Telegram channel Baza wrote that the police and the Emergency Services Ministry have expanded their search geographically for traces of the accident – to the neighboring Ramenskoye and Voskresenskoye districts. They claim that the video that local residents saw, allegedly showing the aftermath of the explosion, turned out to be “a glow emanating from large local greenhouses.”

Telegram channel Mash suggested that the sound that Kolomna residents mistook for an explosion “could have been the sound of MiG planes going into supersonic speed.”
