Belarusian IKEA knockoff company Swed House to open in Russia

Source: TASS

The Russian Union of Shopping Centers has signed a cooperation agreement with the Belarusian company Swed House, a home goods firm that sells items intended to look like IKEA products.

The organization’s head told Russian state media outlet TASS that up to 10 Swed House stores may open in Moscow by the end of 2023, and that up to 50 could open in Russia in the coming years.

Ingka group, the Swedish company that owned IKEA’s stores in Russia, suspended operations in the country after Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine last year.
