15-year-old arrested for allegedly planning arson at a military enlistment office
A court in Tobolsk charged a 15-year-old boy who, according to investigators, was planning to set fire to a military enlistment office, reports TASS.
According to local law enforcement, on the evening of February 23, the ninth-grader headed toward the city’s enlistment office with a Molotov cocktail and a lighter, planning to set the building on fire. He was stopped on the way by FSB officers.
The boy has been charged with preparing a terrorist act.
The publication 72.ru reports that the boy was offered money to commit arson. The publication also writes that the his father has been fighting in Ukraine, and that he returned home on leave the day before the incident.
There have been more than 50 cases of arson at Russia military enlistment offices since the invasion of Ukraine.
