Prigozhin claims Wagner Group has captured Krasna Hora to the north of Bakhmut

Wagner Group founder and Kremlin-backed tycoon Evgeny Prigozhin says that Wagner fighters have occupied the village of Krasna Hora, located 7 kilometers (about 4 miles) north of Bakhmut.

Prigozhin also claimed that Wagner fighters were the only Russian troops in the area, saying “In a 50-kilometer [30-mile] radius, give or take, there are only Wagner Group fighters, who will take Bakhmut.”

Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the alleged capture of Krasna Hora. The General Staff’s morning report noted only that the village was taking fire.

The American think tank the Institute for the Study of War said in its February 11 report that “footage published on February 11 shows Russian forces walking freely in the eastern part of Krasna Hora and likely indicates that Ukrainian forces withdrew from the settlement.”

The Russian defense ministry has not commented on the situation.
