Prosecutors seek 23-year prison sentence in contract killing case against former Khabarovsk governor

Prosecutors have requested a 23-year prison sentence for former Khabarovsk Governor Sergey Furgal, Russian state media reported on Wednesday.
Last week, a Moscow jury convicted former Khabarovsk Governor Sergey Furgal of ordering allegedly business-related contract killings, a crime punishable by up to life in prison.
Furgal’s sentence will be announced on February 10.
