Verkhovna Rada appoints new Ukrainian Security Service head and interior minister

Ukraine’s parliament has appointed Vasyl Malyuk as the head of the country’s Security Service, according to UNIAN. Malyuk had been serving as the agency’s acting head since July.
Verkhovna Rada deputies also appointed Ihor Klimenko to be the country’s new interior minister. Klimenko previously served as the chief of Ukraine’s National Police. His predecessor as interior minister, Denys Monastyrskyi, was killed in a helicopter crash on January 18.
