Ukrainian Finance Ministry says Kyiv will need $3 billion per month in foreign assistance throughout 2023

Ukrainian Deputy Finance Minister Olga Zykova said Thursday that the country will need approximately $3 billion of international financing per month throughout 2023, the ministry’s press service reported.

According to Zykova, Kyiv has secured about $30 billion in funding for the entire year from the EU and the U.S. That, combined with other contributions, leaves about $10 billion that Ukraine will have to seek from other countries and international organizations, she said.

Zykova noted that in 2022, the Ukrainian government carried out systematic efforts to decrease its budget deficit, including by increasing taxes and customs duties.
