Ukrainian General Staff says Russia is preparing for second wave of mobilization in late February

In its daily briefing on Thursday, Ukraine’s General Staff said that Russia is preparing for a second wave of mobilization in Crimea. According to the update, all public and private institutions on the peninsula are required to submit lists of employees to be exempted by January 29, while the new call-up is slated to begin in late February.

The briefing also said that all repair and construction work in public enterprises and institutions will be suspended on February 1, and that funding for those projects will be reallocated to the military. It’s unclear from the report whether this only applies to Crimea.
