Russian lawmaker proposes requiring citizens to reserve time slot before leaving country by car
New legislation proposed by Evgeny Moskvichev, the chair of the Russian State Duma’s Transport and Construction Committee, would require Russians who wish to leave the country by car to reserve specific dates and times in advance of crossing the border.
According to the draft bill, which Russian state media published on Tuesday, drivers would be able to make the reservations online, and the slots would be allotted on a first come, first served basis.
The prospective new rules could come into effect as soon as March 1, Moskvichev told journalists.
