The Dutch authorities have issued a TV broadcast license to the independent Russian news outlet TV Rain, which had its Latvian license revoked in December.
According to the website of the Netherlands’ national media regulator, the decision to allow TV Rain to broadcast in the country was made on December 22, though the first reports of the news in the Dutch media appeared on January 9. TV Rain has not commented on the decision.
The Latvian news outlet LSM.lv noted that the license will presumably allow TV Rain to air its content on cable networks in all EU countries, including in Latvia.
