A court in the Crimean town of Feodosia has sentenced nurse and activist Irina Danilovich to seven years in prison on charges of illegally possessing explosives, according to the Ukrainian news outlet Grati. Danilovich has denied the charges, saying the Russian FSB planted an explosive device in her glasses case.

According to Danilovich, FSB officers abducted her on April 29 and held her in the agency’s Simferopol office, where she says they tortured her in an effort to make her reveal information about journalists in Crimea and testify against Crimean Tatar activists. She claims the officers also made her take a polygraph test while answering questions about whether she works for foreign intelligence services.

One of the FSB officers reportedly said that Danilovich was arrested on suspicion of treason. According to Grati, a judge said at Danilovich’s sentencing hearing that the treason investigation against her is still ongoing.
