Ukrainian Defense Minister: Russia's Kherson withdrawal will take at least one week

Source: Reuters

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said in an interview Friday that it will take at least one week for Russia to withdraw its troops from the right bank of the Dnipro River.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' Operational Command South reported that as of early Friday morning, Russia was still transferring troops and equipment across the Dnipro River, building lines of defense on the river’s left bank, and shelling Ukraine’s positions on the right bank. The command also noted that Ukrainian forces were continuing to move the front line closer to the Dnipro River’s left bank, while Russian forces were “urgently packing into watercraft” and traveling across the water.

According to a Ukrainian military official, Russia has partially withdrawn its troops, but some units and military vehicles still remain on the Dnipro’s right bank. She noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are closely monitoring the Russians’ movements and are aware of the possibility of deceptive maneuvers.
