Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that grain shipments under the Black Sea grain deal resumed at noon Moscow time.
According to Erdoğan, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu called Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar on Tuesday to confirm that the shipments would continue the following day.
In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry announced Wednesday that Russia would resume its participation in the grain deal, saying Ukraine’s guarantee not to use the humanitarian corridor or its own ports for combat operations against Russia were sufficient. Moscow withdrew from the deal on October 29, citing an alleged Ukrainian drone attack on Russia's Black Sea Fleet.
