Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu says 87,000 mobilized troops have been deployed
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on a conference call Tuesday that 87,000 mobilized Russians have now been sent into combat, Interfax reported.
According to Shoigu, approximately 3,000 instructors with combat experience in Ukraine were involved in training the conscripts.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported earlier that the mobilization campaign went according to plan, with a total of 300,000 people drafted. On October 28, Shoigu told Putin that 82,000 conscripts had been deployed.
On October 31, Vladimir Putin announced the end of Russia's mobilized campaign, though he has not signed an official decree ending the draft.
