Russia’s federal censor, Roskomnadzor, has restricted access to the site Ekho, a project of former employees of the radio station Ekho Moskvy, according to the Ekho Telegram channel.

According to a service for checking blockings, access to echofm.online was restricted at the request of the General Prosecutor’s office on October 5. Article 15.3 of the law “On Information” has become the basis of the register of restricted sources which, according to Russian law, disseminate illegal information.

The site went online on October 3.

The radio station Ekho Moskvy was liquidated shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Employees of the station later announced that it would resume broadcasting under the name Ekho. The new media platform reportedly will include the projects of journalists who had worked at Ekho Moskvy, and will run on donations from listeners.
