Russian college conducts terrorism drill without informing students in advance

Source: NN.ru

Administrators at the Rabotkinsky Agrarian College in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region held an anti-terrorism drill on Thursday without warning students, according to the local news site NN.ru. The site posted screenshots of messages sent by students who believed they were experiencing a real terrorist attack.

On the morning of September 29, professors at the college locked students in their classrooms. Soon after, students began messaging their friends that there had been a terrorist attack. Several minutes later, the students were told that the incident was just a drill.

The college administration confirmed that the drill occurred. They told NN.ru that the decision to hold it was made after the recent school shooting in Russia’s Udmurt Republic.
