On the evening of August 19, air defenses were triggered in the Crimean city of Yevpatoria, according to Oleg Kriuchkov, an advisor to the Moscow-backed head of Crimea. “Crimea is well protected,” he said on Telegram.
Shortly after, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported that the city’s air defense systems had fired in response to drones flying near the city. “Just like many city residents, I heard blasts in the center. Similar ones rang out earlier near the Streletska [Bay]. The air defenses there were activated. There’s naval artillery in the center. It’s the same story as yesterday. According to preliminary reports, it was drones. The targets have been hit. Keep calm,” he wrote.
