Ukrainian court sentences Russian tank gunner to 10 years in prison for firing on apartment building

A court in Chernihiv sentenced Senior Sergeant Mikhail Kulikov to 10 years in prison for shooting at a high-rise residential apartment building on the city’s outskirts. The Russian tank crewman was convicted of firing at civilians — a violation of the laws and customs of war. Ukrainian troops captured Kulikov early in the invasion on February 26.
There are no reports of casualties resulting from his actions, but Kulikov confessed to the charges and acknowledged in court that he knew he’d been ordered to fire at a residential building.
