Two Team Navalny members reported missing in Russia’s Dagestan

Eduard Atayev, the coordinator of Team Navalny’s office in Makhachkala, has gone missing along with his aide Murad Manapov.

“Yesterday we opened the headquarters in Makhachkala, and today our coordinator Eduard Atayev has gone missing. Eduard isn’t picking up his phone and the last time he was online was yesterday at around 15:00. He’s not at home either. We’re finding out what happened to him,” the Makhachkala office wrote on Twitter on Monday, April 12.

The fact that Atayev’s aide Murad Manapov has also gone missing was reported by Ruslan Akhalchi from the organization “Nablyudateli Dagestana” (Observers of Dagestan). “He left home and immediately stopped picking up the phone,” the activist wrote on Twitter on Monday.

Team Navalny announced plans to open a campaign office in Makhachkala, Dagestan in February 2021. Hours after the announcement, the then local campaign manager Ruslan Ablyakimov was jumped by a group of strangers in a suburb outside Makhachkala.
