Two police officers injured during shooting in Moscow

Two police officers and one civilian were injured during a shooting on Moscow’s Leninsky Avenue, RIA Novosti reports, referencing the emergency services.

A source in law enforcement told TASS that the driver of a car opened fire after traffic police stopped the vehicle for an inspection. According to preliminary data, the vehicle in question was a taxi, RIA Novosti reports.

Baza reports that the driver wounded two police officers, while he himself was hit by return fire. According to Mash, both police officers are in critical condition (however, Baza and TASS report that only one of the two officers was seriously injured).

The taxi driver was arrested on the spot, Mash reports. According to TASS, he resisted arrest.
